Complete rebuild of all slideways.

This was a rebuild of a Matchmaker FMS3. The machine had become very inaccurate, and required a complete refurbish of the box slideways. This work was undertaken in conjunction with M J E S Engineering Services at a cast iron machine shop in Telford. (1997)

Slideway strip down and rebuild.

This next machine was a Matchmaker FMS5, again the Z-axis had worn and needed refurbishing. At the same time the spindle and ball screw were also refurbished. This machine was in an American owned high precision company near Coventry. (1999 M J E S)

Installation of a Toyoda FH45II

(Out of the Box)

This machine came directly from Japan, and was delivered to Toyoda-Mitsui in Coventry. The machine had to be unpacked and installed in the workshop. Then, once Toyoda were happy with any modification and alterations, the machine was re-packed and transported to the customer. (2003)

The first photo is of the machine as it arrived at the workshop. We now stripped the old machine down and removed all the unnecessary components. A Heidenhain control was the next to be fitted and new DC motors to all the axis.

The right hand photo is of the machine leaving the workshop for delivery to the new premises.

Matchmaker FMS3 Overhaul

These two machine have been completely rebuilt from the top to the bottom. Re-ground slideways, new bearings and re-painted.

(1998 M J E S)

The rebuild was for a second hand machine dealer, who had bought them in auction and needed to resell them both for best price possible. As they were in a poor state, and in need of some TLC, we re-painted them in the original colour and manufactured safety covers for the tool changer.

It was decided that the best option was to move the machines into the work shop. Over the next month, they were worked on as a secondary job i.e., when we had time. This suited the customer as the machine was not going for re-sale until the following month.

Both of the machines were sold into the used market

1` Table repair to a Toyoda-Mitsui FH55s

On this machine, the seals had worn and oil mist was leaking from the air blow that keeps the underside of the pallet clean. The machine has a table size of 500mm X 500mm. The job took just over two days to complete, this was from Friday to a Sunday morning. (2004 toyoda)

Installation of a 5-Axis 1500mm X 1000 pallet size

This machine was installed by Sureserv for 2D CNC in April 2015. The machine was a second hand machine which came from Germany and was delivered on four Artic lorry's weighing 34 Tonne's. Over 3 weeks we re-built the machine handing it to the company fully tested and ready for work to begin.

550 x 550 size pallet machine needing new Turcite

This machine had been run without the Y-axis slideway guards fitted. This had caused the Turcite to deteriorate and actually come away from the casting.

We removed the machines spindle and all the piping which was bolted on the rear carriage. Once removed from the machine we sent it to Birmingham Machine Tools Services Ltd to have new Turcite glued and ground.

We then re-fitted the casting and hand scraped for a prefect fit.

In conjugation with TOODAY Ltd, this 5 Axis 800x800 twin pallet, 120 tool magazine, machining centre was reinstalled as the company was expanding into a new factory building. A full service was also carried out during the move. Three service engineers, all ex-Toyoda Mitsui,

decommissioned and re-commissioned the machine over 4 weeks in 2006.

We were give the job of decommissioning and recommissioning this machine which was in Bridport Dorset.
